How Much Does the Texas Level II Course Cost?
At MLG, Level II tuition is $55 flat. That covers everything the school provides: all 11 modules, the final exam, your PSP-36 certificate of completion, and the Participant Guide attached to your enrollment email. You pay by card at enrollment and your classroom opens immediately.
What the $55 Covers — and What It Does Not
- Covered by the $55: the full 6-hour DPS Level II curriculum, the final exam, the PSP-36 certificate emailed on passing, and the Participant Guide.
- Not covered: the state's own fees. DPS charges its own application and fingerprint fees separately when you apply in TOPS. Those amounts are set by DPS, not by MLG, and are paid to the state during your application.
Anything Else to Budget For?
Beyond tuition and the state fees, Level II has no other required purchase at MLG. You need a device with internet and sound for the narrated classroom. Guard uniforms and equipment, if your employer requires them, are between you and your employer.
Common Questions
Is the $55 a subscription?
No. It is a one-time tuition payment for the Level II course. There is no monthly charge from MLG for this course.
What if I fail the exam?
MLG allows 3 attempts at the final exam. If your attempts run out, you re-enroll and can call the school at (956) 583-2004 for help.
Do I pay DPS anything through MLG?
No. DPS application and fingerprint fees are paid to the state during your TOPS application, not to MLG.
