State Eligibility Notice (HB 1508)
Texas law requires us to give you this notice before you enroll or pay: an individual with a criminal history may be ineligible to hold a security officer registration or license under Texas Occupations Code Chapter 1702 and the guidelines of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
You have the right to request a criminal history evaluation letter from the Texas DPS (Occupations Code §53.102) before spending money on training.
Completing an MLG course earns you the state-required training certificate — the license itself is issued only by the Texas Department of Public Safety after application, fingerprints, and background review in TOPS.
